September CURRENTLY!

I'm slacking, friends!!  School started and I have been MIA ever since.  I'm sorry.  It's funny because I keep reading some of my bloggy-buddie's post and it seems I'm not alone.

Anywho---why not start the month of September on my favorite link-up, Farley's CURRENTLY.  Apparently, it is a LOT of blogger's favorite.  I'm way at the bottom of a list of over 200 blogs linked in.  So here are my current states:

LISTENING - You guys know me, I absolutely love to have Criminal Minds playing in the background while I work.  I probably have seen every episode more than 5 times each so I don't really have to pay attention.  I can just listen and still enjoy.

LOVING - I'm getting the hang of keeping my Erin Condren planner to be my "one-stop-shop" so to say.  I usually have lists here and there, calendars in this place and that, and carry notebooks, binders, and more notebooks.  Now I am learning how to keep it all together in one place and I am loving it.  If you haven't tried Erin Condren, I suggest to take a leap.  It is well worth the extra $$.

THINKING - Or trying not to think about one of the most "yucky" decisions we have to make.  Our old little weenie dog is starting to show signs of his 14 years.  He's been losing sight and hearing.  Now he's walking in circles, losing use of his hind legs, and has no control of his bladder and bowels.  We just got back from the Animal ER and we need to decide to make him comfortable with meds or put him down {tears flowing}.  I know what is best for him since he's so uncomfortable but I'm so sad!!

WANTING - One more day in this long weekend to get my emotions in check.  I'm trying to get started on lesson plans, school work, and dealing with my poor little guy sitting behind the couch.

NEEDING - I might need some focus medicine to get things done.  I tend to sit down and get side tracked with everything BUT what I meant to work on.  Ugh!!  Maybe a vitamin will help.

3 TRIPS - Italy!  (or any European countries for that matter)  I just want to see several sites in person instead of in movies.  I could really spend a whole summer just exploring if given the chance.  The Caribbean would be my getaway to relax and enjoy beautiful beaches.  And Japan would be to explore amazing culture!  Some day…

It's another CURRENTLY: May!

I'm just running a few days late.  I couldn't seem to find any time with my laptop over the last few days so I'm playing catch up.  At the top of my list: May's CURRENTLY link-up with Farley over at Oh' Boy 4th Grade.

Listening - For some reason I woke up with some of the songs from Pitch Perfect playing in my head, so I decided to put the movie on while I sat with my laptop in my lap this morning.  & of course, I can't just watch/listen...I have to sing along here and there.

Loving - This weekend, my hubby and I had a few adventures a little outside our normal weekend routine.  The biggest one was a quick trip to Austin for a family member's 65th birthday celebration.  It was a black tie event and so we had fun dressing up.

Thinking - I was tempted to get my run in this morning but I think I decided to wait until it cools down and run this evening instead.  Mid-day runs are not my favorite.

Wanting - On Wednesday night, we are going to fly out to visit my mom and grandmother in NM.  It is sort of an unanticipated trip but it is always exciting to see loved ones.  So now I'm going to hope that the next few days FLY by!!

Needing - Ugh!!  Why does it never end??  And I'm not even talking about laundry for the entire family.  The kids each have their own day to wash their own clothes so I'm only talking about the hubby and me.  It never ends!!!

Surprise!! - I have recently linked up with some fellow teacher bloggers and am so excited to create this collaboration team of new friends.  So far it is so neat to learn about them through their blogs, Facebook,  TPT stores, & Instagram.  There are 10 of us!!  That's a great team of collaborators.  I decided to try and learn about each one.  Today I have been focusing on this new blogging buddy: Amy at Learning Lessons with Mrs. Labrasciano.  Stop by and read about all her wonderful ideas!

Jan., Feb., March?? Yup -- It's CURRENTLY March

It's March 1st!  Time to link up with Farley at Oh' Boy 4th Grade for this month's CURRENTLY.  Stop by and join in the fun.

Listening - Nope!  Not what you think.  I wish it were, though.  If you're like me, you're in a bit of mourning since football season is over.  But I'm about to admit another guilty pleasure...The Game television show is on BET.  I used to be super addicted to this show.  It's been cut from it's original channel and resurfaced on BET.  Unfortunately, some of characters on the newer seasons are different, so I don't get as crazy about it now.  But since the new season is about to start they are having a marathon from the first seasons.  I actually own these seasons on DVD but I couldn't resist turning to the channel when I saw it on the guide.  It still cracks me up and I've watched these first 3 seasons so much that I can pretty much quote everyone right along with it.

Loving - I just opened all the downstairs windows and can feel a wonderful Spring breeze that is blowing in.  Please-oh-please let that mean that it will be here soon.  I'm kind of done with the cold.

 

Thinking - I'm currently working on my Liebster Award post and so I'm thinking of answers for the 11 questions set by Emerald at If You Mustache.  & of course, true to form, her questions are OUTSTANDING!

Wanting - March 20th!  That is when I am expecting my first shipment from Stich Fix.  If you haven't heard about this AMAZING shopping experience, head on over and check it out.  I will definitely be posting what I get.  Look for it.

Needing - My Spring Break is coming up and after that my Student Teacher takes over.  So I have some free time ahead of me.  I want to get my Math stations put together for upcoming concepts.  I bought my containers from Target and purchased some TPT activities.  I have tons more to do.  I also plan on creating my own and get my TPT store really up and going.  I have so many ideas and need to get those produced and ready.  I just really need to have a plan in place.

Are we CURRENTLY in February??

Is it really February already??  I can't believe that January came and went that quickly.  It's time for our February CURRENTLY.  Linking up with Farley over at Oh' Boy 4th Grade for this Linky.

LISTENING - I can hear 3 various snores: my hubby, Kobe (our chocolate lab) and Archie (the weenie dog).  But unfortunately they are not drowning out the HORRIBLE comedy spewing from my TV.  Culprit #1 somehow was allowed to grab a movie from the RedBox without supervision and brought home one of those movies that was a waste of any penny put into it.  I DO NOT find this type of humor worthwhile.  So the laptop is blocking my view.

LOVING - My hubby surprised me last week by taking me into the Apple Store and unexpectedly purchasing me my very own MacBook Pro.  (I truly think he was just tired of me hogging the other one most of the time for blogging and creating)  So I made it MINE!  Complete with cute desktop organization and all my favorite fonts, clipart, borders, paper, and other things Blogger style.

THINKING - I've decided to begin my graduate work this summer and submitted my application for PVAMU and financial aid.  I'm so excited and nervous.  & Yes, that is Prairie View A&M.  How awesome will it be for both my husband and I to have our Masters Degrees from the same HBCU.

WANTING - Even though those 2 "snow" days we had the last couple of weeks have set us back in the classroom, I kind of got used to having that extra planning/snuggle time at home.  Remember, I use the term "snow" lightly since I do live in South TX and didn't see a single snowflake fall.

NEEDING - I want to get back to running.  My hubby and I keep telling each other that we will run tomorrow.  But that tomorrow doesn't seem to get here.  I NEED to get back to it!!  I really do enjoy it.

2 TRUTHS & A FIB - 1.  Yes it is true!  I danced throughout high school and when I was in college, I came across some friends that were putting together a HipHop group that toured schools to promote positivity.  I helped develop the show and danced with them for about a year.  I even got paid and we even opened for a concert in El Paso.  2.  No, I never actually started in a play.  I always have dreamed of it.  I think I was just too shy to really pursue that dream.  Instead, I devoted myself to sponsoring Drama Clubs at my schools for over 7 years.  I wish I was as bold and talented as those amazing kid stars I get to work with.  3. & Yes, we did it.  We drove across the country with all 5 of the kids plus the 2 dogs.  I don't know how, but we did.  It was filled with memories for sure.

January CURRENTLY Linky

Ok -- where have I been?  I love this little idea of CURRENTLY.  I've seen them on various blogs that I peruse and never put the pieces together.  I thought I'd give it a try.  Check out Oh' Boy 4th Grade HERE & let the journey begin:

Listening - Of course, I was the one that introduced my poor hubby to his new game obsession.  I gave up long ago and only go back to that wonderful world of matching candy pieces only when I have a moment of complete nothingness (is that a word?).  I only find those moments on vary rare occasions like a waiting room at the orthodontist.  My husband on the other hand, finds many, many opportunities to match the colorful candies.  And usually, he has several words and phrases that come out of his mouth while doing so.

Loving - Of course I know this vacation time is dwindling down & fast!!  But that doesn't stop the trick my mind is playing on me.  I'm loving all the sleep in time and stay up late time I'm finding.

Thinking - I need to get back on schedule.  I hate how I do this to myself on long breaks and then struggle the first few days of school because I can't make my mind stop and GO TO SLEEP!!

Wanting - They are calling me!!  I secretly think my hubby makes these delicious cookies and knowingly makes so many that he puts them on the counter to entice me!! UGH

Needing - I have a Student Teacher joining us the 2nd week back from break and I want to have my classroom ready for her (her own desk area, supplies, etc.).  Plus I have some new things I want to get up and going.  I NEED to get into that classroom and get busy.

Memory from this Xmas - Our family trip to NM!  Fun, snow, family, food, memories!!  And I've decided that the new Strang family tradition is a ski trip each winter!!
