The Reddish-Brown Crayon: Getting To Know Me...

Hello Friends!

Welcome to my new blog. My name is Reddishann Strang and I am 36 years old. This is my 8th year teaching 2nd grade and 13th year teaching overall. I am originally from New Mexico where I graduated with my degree in 2001. I plan on pursuing a masters degree soon.

My Background

I graduated from New Mexico State University in 2001. I recieved my Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education degree. I am certified to teach children from birth to age 10. I moved to Irving, TX and taught 1st grade from 2001-2006. In 2006 I moved to Orange Park, FL and taught 2nd grade for 2 years at The Oakleaf School and 4 years at Oakleaf Village Elementary. I began my new 2nd grade position at Lakewood Elementary last year after moving back to TX in early September.

My Family

When I'm not at school, I'm spending time with my family. I recently married my husband, Dennis in December of 2011. We combined our families and now have a family of 7. Dennis is an Officer in the US Navy and is currently working with the Navy Reserves. We have 5 children between us ranging in age from 11-18. Their names are Dennis Jr, Dejah, Terrell, Elijah, and Destiny. We love to eat out, see movies, play games, and have fun. The extra members of our family are a "weenie dog" named Archie and a chocolate lab named Kobe. They spend their day sleeping but both greet each of us with lots of love and licks.

My husband, Dennis and I love to have fun. When we are not running the kids from place to place, we sneak away and find adventures for ourselves. He truly is my very best friend, supporter and love!
